Journal Description: The International Journal of Innovation in English Language Teaching and Research is a refereed scholarly publication that allows for the dissemination of information, knowledge, and expertise in these main areas: (1) ELT curriculum and materials design and development, (2) instructional design and methodology, (3) assessment and testing in ELT, (4) Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), (5) teacher education programs, and (6) teacher professional development through reflective language teaching practice in ELT. This journal is of interest to a wide-ranging international audience of English teachers, researchers, teacher educators, and scholars who are professionally involved in English teaching and research on ELT. The IJIELTR is a dedicated publication outlet that provides a unique platform where scholarly, theoretical, practical, and empirical ideas can be voiced and exchanged to strengthen or refine the theories and practices of English language teaching, as well as to challenge and update established empirical studies on curriculum and materials design and development, instructional design and methodology, CALL, teacher education programs, and teacher professional development in ELT. Thus, the journal seeks to promote scholarly discussion and idea exchange among practicing English teachers, educators, researchers, scholars, and graduate students around the world. Call for Articles September 2015 Issue The International Journal of Innovation in ELT and Research (IJIELTR) is currently seeking scholarly submissions to be considered for the publication in the September 2015 issue. The issue will feature empirical research and pedagogical articles addressing language curriculum and syllabus design (e.g., framing a negotiated syllabus), methodology in ELT (e.g., innovative ways to teach speaking and listening), the use of social media in ELT (e.g., digital storytelling), language materials design (e.g., innovating task-based ESP materials), and process-based assessment in ELT (e.g. a dynamic approach to language assessment). All manuscripts are expected to have a clear relation to the theme, scope, and readership of the journal, even though the contexts and topics addressed may differ. All theoretical perspectives are welcome; we envisage this issue will showcase the identified areas of ELT from a variety of conceptual and research paradigms. We also welcome pedagogical articles that discuss applications of theory and research insights in the language classroom. Articles based on actual classroom experience will be particularly relevant. The length of the research articles should be no more than 10,000 words (including references and appendices). Pedagogical articles should be between 4,000 – 6,000 words (including references and appendices). The journal regularly publishes seven (7) articles per issue. Please bear in mind that full-length manuscripts will be reviewed by two referees before the final selection is made.
